Emberfrost is a metal band formed in Palermo, Italy, in September 2022.
The original lineup included three musicians well known in the Sicilian metal scene:
– Ivan Bologna – vocals and bass (Trinakrius, Untory, Tuam Nescis, Cryphtex, Mk Ultra, Age of Pain, Pantheism)
– Roy Zappia – guitar (Inside The Hole, Old Legend)
– Claudio Florio – drums (Trinakrius, Acacia, Crimson Wind, Holy Knights, Synthesys)
In April 2023, keyboardist Francesco Chiazzese (Trinakrius, Lothus) joined the band as a session member. This marked the beginning of a more atmospheric direction in their songwriting, while keeping their original aggressive style.
In August 2023, Chiazzese left the band for personal reasons. He was soon replaced by Andrea Amata (Crimson Wind, Lost Virtues), who became a permanent member. With his input, the band finalized the songs for their debut release.
In December 2023, Emberfrost entered the studio to record their first EP, The Dying God, which was completed in March 2024.The band is currently working on new material for their first full-length album. Their sound is a mix of black and death metal, enriched with atmospheric elements.

“The Dying God” blends Atmospheric Black Metal with symphonic and melodic elements, characterized by icy guitar riffs, dynamic contrasts, and ethereal ambient passages.
It strikes a balance between raw intensity and introspective depth, creating a soundscape both haunting and majestic.
You will not find the “Dying God” between the lines of the Bible, but deep within each of us, every day. For some it is loneliness, for others it is the taste of defeat. The impossibility of reflecting yourself in a society that first tends to transform you and then marginalizes you.
“The Dying God” is the inexorable path to the darkest eclipse of all mankind. We can consider these lines as a main theme that travels between the tracks of the metaphors that characterized the lyrics of this EP.

Gli Emberfrost propongono sonorità decisamente “svedesi” con un sound molto pulito, attento all’armonia (e alla produzione), che accarezza il death; i tempi sono lenti, favorendo, appunto, la sezione armonica. Aspetto centrale e capacità lapalissiana della band sicula, è quella di saper creare, grazie alle tastiere, delle atmosfere glaciali e particolarmente azzeccate che in alcuni passaggi fagocitano la sezione elettrica.

Il genere proposto è black/death (più tendente al black, a dire il vero) con massicci inserti tastieristici molto evocativi, che danno quel qualcosa in più ai brani senza essere invadenti e senza trasformare il gruppo in una band keyboard based.
